Description

A range of cottages dating from around 1800, located on the south side of High Street, Measham, originally forming part of Nos. 89 and 91. The front section has a gable facing the High Street. The construction is primarily red brick, a local type known as “Measham gobs,” rendered and covered with a slate roof, featuring an end stack. Two storeys high, it has a tall recessed arch containing renewed 10/10 sash windows on both floors, with a 20th-century 2-light casement window in the gable. The left side features a 20th-century 10/10 sash window, a 20th-century door, and 20th-century casement windows above. A lower, two-story range extends to the rear, built of red brick (“Measham gobs”) with a 20th-century tile roof. This rear range has four 20th-century 2-light casement windows above six 20th-century casement windows and two doors. The cottages are listed because of their group value in conjunction with Nos. 89 and 91 High Street.
