Description

This is a pair of cottages, numbers 17 and 19 Princess Street, dating from the mid-18th century. The cottages are constructed of red brick and have a gable roof covered with old pantiles. A central chimney stack is present. A moulded eaves band is visible on number 17. Each cottage has two windows to each floor, featuring flush-framed sash windows from the early 19th century. These windows are painted, have no glazing bars, and are topped with flat, gauged brick arches. Modern, flat, gauged brick arches frame the doors at each end of the front facade. The cottages are listed for their group value, together with the other buildings numbered 5 to 25 on the South Side of Princess Street.
