Description

The building at 11 and 11A Princess Street dates from the middle to later 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is a two-storey building constructed of red brick, topped with a gable end pantile roof. The building features a moulded wooden cornice with widely spaced block ornament. The first floor has four narrow windows in flush architrave frames, lacking glazing bars. The ground floor has two early 19th-century glazing bar sash windows and two mid-19th-century four-panel doors. These doors are centrally positioned under the head of an original doorway, which features scroll brackets supporting a pulvinated frieze, a bracketed cornice, and a pediment. The listed buildings from numbers 5 to 25 on the South Side form a group.
