Description

13 and 15 Princess Street are a pair of buildings dating from the later 17th century and with alterations in the 18th century. They are two storeys and an attic in height, constructed of red brick on a stone plinth. Number 15 has a painted exterior. The buildings feature painted stucco bands between the floors, a wooden frieze, and a flat cornice. The roof is pantiled with gables and flanking chimneys, including two flat-roofed dormers. The front has three windows, each with flush architraves and sash windows retaining their original glazing bars; number 13 also has marginal glazing. The entrance features paired doors consisting of six fielded panels, each topped with a rectangular fanlight, set within architrave surrounds in the centre of the front. The buildings form a group with the other listed buildings on the South Side, from numbers 5 to 25.
