Description
Cross Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1734, with a back range that may be from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ironstone ashlar with a tile roof and features a brick end stack. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door set within a 19th-century gabled timber porch. The flat-arched windows on both the ground and first floors are fitted with 20th-century frames. The farmhouse displays quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. A datestone located in the left gable bears the inscription B/TH/1734. Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer.
