Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed squared ironstone and features a hipped roof covered with 20th-century ridged tiles, along with a 20th-century brick lateral stack on the left side. The building is designed in an L-shape and is two stories tall with a three-window range.
The left wing projects and includes a 19th-century canted bay window on the ground floor, as well as a tripartite sash window with a flat-arched head. To the right of the wing, there is a six-panel, part-glazed door framed by a moulded wood surround, situated in a timber porch supported by Tuscan columns and trellis. There is also a canted bay window to the right of the door. Above the door, on the first floor, is a four-pane sash window, and to the right, there is another tripartite sash window, both featuring flat-arched heads.
The interior has not been inspected. The farmhouse has been altered and extended in the 20th century, maintaining its L-plan layout. The main facade faces south towards the garden and has a blocked central door. To the left, there is a "French" window, and to the right, a 20-pane sash window, both with segmental-arched brick heads. The first floor features 16-pane horned sash windows, which have stop-chamfered wood lintels. The building also has a chamfered plinth, quoins, hollow-chamfered stone eaves, and stone-coped gables with kneelers.
There is a single-storey extension to the right made of coursed ironstone rubble with a pantile roof, and a full-height wing at the rear left that faces the street. The street elevation has a continuous chamfered plinth, and the rear gable of the wing is stone-coped. The interior has not been inspected.
