Description
Two cottages, originally one, dating from the 17th century with alterations and additions from the 19th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed ironstone and limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. They have three brick ridge stacks and a pantiled roof. The front is irregular, with six bays, and a single storey plus attics. The original central door, which has a moulded 17th-century surround and cornice, is now blocked. To the left is a 3-light casement window in a 17th-century moulded stone surround, alongside a 17th-century 3-light mullioned window with ovolo moulding and a corniced surround. To the right of the door is a 3-light window with wooden mullions in a 17th-century surround with a corniced top, followed by a 19th-century glazed panelled door with a flat lintel and a small 19th-century 2-light casement window with a flat lintel. Above are four dormers, three with two lights and one with three; all are 19th-century and feature glazing bar casement windows and rendered cheeks.
