Description

Nos 4 and 6 on Lincoln Road are a pair of houses that were formerly one building, constructed around 1900 with later 20th-century additions. They are likely designed by Sir R. Blomfield. The exterior features coursed and banded ironstone and limestone rock-faced ashlar, with ashlar quoins and dressings. The stone-coped gables have ball finials, and there are two stone ridge stacks atop a plain tiled roof. The west front has two bays and is a single storey plus attics. An off-centre glazed door is flanked to the left by a three-light casement window, both of which have flat lintels. Above, there is a two-light casement dormer window with tile-hung cheeks and a hipped tile roof. To the left, there is a later extension. This building shares a similar vernacular revival style with the nearby Caythorpe Court.
