Description
The Corner Shop is a house that has been used as a shop, originally built in the 17th century with additions and alterations from the 18th and 19th centuries. It features coursed and banded limestone and ironstone rubble, with ashlar quoins on the first floor and brick dressings. The roof is made of pantiles and has brick gables and off-centre ridge stacks. The building has a two-storey, four-bay front, with an off-centre six-panelled door from the 19th century, flanked by 18th-century glazing bar sash windows. All the ground floor windows have timber lintels. There is evidence of a 17th-century doorway to the right of the current entrance. The first floor, which was added in the 19th century, is illuminated by three glazing bar sash windows with brick segmental heads.
