Description

This is a house dating to circa 1800, located on West Street in Barkston. The exterior is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, while the sides and rear are of ironstone rubble. The roof is tiled with pantiles, featuring brick gable stacks and a decorative brick eaves course. The front facade is two storeys and four bays, with the central pair slightly projecting to create an entry bay. A 20th-century glazed door is positioned off-centre, flanked to the right by two large glazing bar casements and to the left by a similar window. The first-floor windows are two-light Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars; the area above the door is blank. All window and door openings have flat lintels incorporating splayed keystones.
