Description

The Yews is a house built in 1838. It is constructed from limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof with raised stone copings and prominent kneelers, featuring moulded stacks. The front facade is two storeys and three bays, with a plinth and quoins. The central doorway has an original panelled door, sheltered by a heavy hood mould. Above the doorway is a shield-shaped plaque with the date stone “1838” carved on it, also beneath a hood mould. Flanking the doorway are single glazing bar sash windows with hood moulds; the first floor windows are similar in style but smaller.
