Description
Holmelea is a house and shop that has been altered in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, featuring quoins, moulded kneelers, coped gables, and end ridge brick stacks. The building has an 'L' plan and stands three storeys tall with three bays, generally featuring glazing bar sashes set in flush stone surrounds. The central first-floor window is a sash with lozenge glazing. The central doorway has a quoined surround and is flanked on the west by a lower and earlier blocked doorway, while on the east there is a 19th-century shop window with glazing bars. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with a rectangular overlight above.
