Description
Smithy House is an early 18th-century house constructed from massive ashlar gritstone. It features coved eaves, coped gables, and moulded kneelers, along with an intermediate ashlar stack and rebuilt end ridge stacks. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays, with two and three-light flush mullioned windows that have slightly projecting heads and cills, linked by continuous bands. The windows are fitted with sash frames and fixed lights, all featuring single glazing bars. There are two doorways: one is off-centre with a slightly projecting stone surround and a six-panelled door, while the other is located at the east end with a plain surround and a cut away lintel.
