Description
This is a house located to the east of Holmelea, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone that has been tooled, featuring projecting quoins, a coved eaves band, moulded kneelers, and coped gables. The house has an ashlar ridge stack at the north end and a brick stack at the south end, with a roof covered in concrete tiles.
The building has a gable facing the street and consists of two storeys and attics, arranged in three bays with an irregular facade. Originally, it had 18th-century flush mullioned and transomed windows flanking the doorway and on the first floor, but the ground floor windows have been altered. Currently, there is one 19th-century single glazing bar sash frame and some 20th-century joinery. The attic features 2-light flush mullioned windows with linked heads, while one first-floor window still retains its leaded lights.
At the south end, there is a single light 18th-century window located above a window that was inserted into a former doorway. The off-centre doorway has a massive quoined surround and lintel, leading to a plain planked door. The west elevation includes an 18th-century stair window, and the street elevation displays a stacked 2-light flush mullioned window.
