Description

Heathcote House and Cottage is a house and cottage dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared gritstone, featuring quoins, moulded kneelers, coped gables, and central ashlar ridge stacks, topped with a mix of Welsh and stone slates as well as concrete tiles. It has an 'L' shaped plan and stands two storeys high with attics, comprising four bays. The eastern bay is lower than the main range and lacks copings.

The main range includes 2-light 18th-century flush mullioned windows that were refashioned in the 19th century, along with 2-light flush mullioned gable dormers in the attics, all fitted with 19th-century sashes and casements. Above the central doorway, there is a blocked single light opening. The doorway itself features a quoined surround, a massive lintel, and double panelled doors with glazed upper panels.

At the rear, there is a two-storey stair tower with a stone slated roof, along with single-storey extensions. The lower single bay contains stacked 18th-century flush-mullioned windows with sashes and casements, and a doorway that has a massive lintel, quoins, and a 20th-century glazed door.
