Description

The barn and stables at Old Park Farm date from the late 18th century and have some 19th-century alterations. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and feature a pantile roof. The two-storey, single-bay barn has a central stable door with a timber lintel. On the first floor, there is a doorway and a louvred opening with an overlight at the eaves. To the left, there is a three-bay stable range that includes two planked doors and a louvred opening with an overlight, all under timber lintels, along with a short doorway to the eaves. Attached to this block is a single-storey range that runs at right angles to the main front, featuring eight bays with three louvred openings and overlights, a planked door beneath segmental stone heads, and a pair of 20th-century double planked doors. At the left end, there is a 20th-century door and window in the original opening, as well as an inserted two-light 20th-century window that forms a farm office. This building is included for its group value only.
