Description
The barn at the Old Farm House dates from the 17th century and has 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and features a pantiled roof. The barn has six internal bays. There is an off-centre doorway that includes a 19th-century split stable door with a timber lintel. To the left of the doorway, there are two small openings lined with brick from the 19th century; the lower one is a hatchway, while the upper one is a window with a two-light Yorkshire sash. Additionally, there are three small vertical ventilation slits in the wall: one to the left of the door and two beneath the eaves. Inside, the right-hand part retains four bays of the original 17th-century butt purlin roof, while the two bays on the left are 19th-century replacements, separated by a later wall. This barn is included for its group value only.
