Description
This barn, located to the south of the Old Farmhouse, dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble and features large quoins. The roof is made of stone slate, and the gables are stone coped with moulded kneelers, including a ball finial on the western gable. The northern section of the barn is from the 17th century, while the southern part was enlarged in the 18th century. The barn has doorcases with chamfered quoin surrounds and shouldered lintels at both the front and rear. There is a full height arch on the southern side with double plank doors, and a dormer opening is situated between the two doors. The 18th-century section contains three queen strut trusses. This barn is included for its group value.
