Description
The gate piers, gates, and walls to Bugsworth Hall date from the 18th century and are constructed from gritstone ashlar and rubble, with cast iron elements. The square-section ashlar gate piers feature moulded cornices and are topped with ball finials on pyramidal bases. The gates are rectangular, consisting of six vertical bars at the top and twelve below, with wavy linking bars at the top and middle. Flanking the gate piers are rubble walls that have moulded copings, and on top of these walls are iron railings adorned with arrow and urn finials. Rectangular piers with ball finials are positioned at each end of the structure.
