Description

Brierley Green Farmhouse and Barn is a farmhouse and barn built under a continuous roof, dated 1760, with a 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings. It has stone slate roofs, the barn roof being slightly lower pitched, along with stone gable and ridge stacks. A moulded wooden eaves gutter runs along the top.

The south elevation has an off-centre doorcase with a flush surround, and a raised and fielded 19th-century panelled door. To either side are three-light flush mullion windows. To the west is a 19th-century addition with a glazing bar sash window. To the east, beyond the farmhouse, is the barn, featuring three doors with flush surrounds. A datestone above the house door, inscribed 'MSM 1760' within an arched top, marks the original construction date. Above this are three windows matching those on the ground floor, arranged in the same pattern.
