Description

STOKE ROCHFORD HIGH DIKE SK 92 NW (west side) 6/150 Stables, waggon hovels, store at Stoke Grange Farm G.V. II

Stables, waggon hovels, store. Mid C19. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar and red brick dressings. Pantile roofs. Single storey stable range of 8 bays terminates in taller left hand bay, with fixed glazing bar light under timber lintel. 3 planked doors, an open passageway and 2 fixed or louvred lights have segmental ashlar heads and to right is a pair of C20 timber doors under wooden lintel. Beyond is a 2 storey 8 bay waggon hovel, the left bay being a planked door, the remaining 7 bays open brick basket arches on brick piers. To first floor 3 glazing bar pivot lights with brick segmental heads. Included for group value only.
