Description

Stoke Grange Farm features stables, waggon hovels, and a store built in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar and red brick detailing, topped with pantile roofs. The single-storey stable range consists of eight bays, ending with a taller bay on the left that has a fixed glazing bar light beneath a timber lintel. It includes three planked doors, an open passageway, and two fixed or louvred lights, all with segmental ashlar heads. To the right, there is a pair of 20th-century timber doors under a wooden lintel. Adjacent to this is a two-storey waggon hovel with eight bays; the left bay features a planked door, while the other seven bays have open brick basket arches supported by brick piers. On the first floor, there are three glazing bar pivot lights with brick segmental heads. This building is included for its group value only.
