Description

The farm buildings located southeast of The Grange are linked structures that now serve as storage and stabling. They date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and have undergone some alterations. The buildings are constructed of rubble that has been painted white and feature pantiled roofs, along with a brick chimney stack.

The layout is L-shaped, with a stable range and a barn on the front gable end to the left, and a single-storey range that is at right angles to the right, forming a linked U-plan group that encloses a small yard. The barn is two-storey and has four bays, with a gable front. It features a pair of boarded doors set under a segmental arch, alongside a boarded opening and pigeon holes arranged in a triangular pattern on the front gable end. There is a rebuilt external stairway leading to a boarded door on the right return. The steeply-pitched roof has raised verges and reversed-stepped gables.

The single-storey L-plan stable range includes Dutch doors and replaced casements, and its steeply-pitched roof is hipped at an angle. There is also a single-storey range consisting of two builds to the right. The projecting rear section, which was formerly a cottage, has been converted into a garage with a large vehicle opening, and it features a steeply-pitched roof and a rebuilt rear end stack. The lower and narrower front section has reversed-stepped gables and a steeply-pitched roof. These buildings are included for their group value.
