Description
Raby Hunt Inn is an inn built around 1835, with an earlier wing likely dating from the late 18th century on the right. The main block is constructed of squared sandstone, topped with a Welsh slate roof and features stone chimney stacks. The wing is made of coursed rubble with a pantiled roof and a rebuilt brick chimney stack. The main block is two stories high and has three bays. It includes a battened door set in a raised chamfered surround within a central solid gabled porch. The windows are two-light, featuring side-hung 8-pane casements in raised chamfered surrounds. The roof has coped gables and stepped-and-corniced end stacks. The single-storey wing has three bays with 12-pane sash windows that have wedge lintels and projecting sills, and it features a steeply-pitched roof with a tall central ridge stack. There is also a two-storey, two-bay gabled wing on the left rear of the main block. Late 20th-century additions on the left return and rear are not considered of special interest.
