Description
The Pack Horse Inn is an inn that likely dates from the late 18th century and has undergone some alterations. It is constructed from thin courses of sandstone rubble, featuring quoins and ashlar dressings, and is topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of three bays plus one additional bay. The main entrance is a central four-panel door set in a plain stone surround, flanked by projecting square bay windows beneath a full-width hipped pent roof. Above, there are three late 19th-century sash windows with flat stone lintels and stone sills, along with external louvred shutters. The eaves are supported by five short stone piers that hold a full-width name board. The inn features tall end chimneys. The right bay has been modified to include sliding boarded vehicle doors, and it also has a late 19th-century sash window beneath a wide stone lintel on the first floor, with a small square sash window directly above it. The building is included for its group value.
