Description
The churchyard wall, gates, piers, and War Memorial date from the mid-19th century and early 20th century. It is constructed of rubble and ashlar sandstone, with wrought iron elements. The wall features coursed rubble with tooled, chamfered coping. On the south side, there are chamfered square gate piers made of dressed stone, which include a plinth, broach stops, a torus band, and a stepped pyramidal cap topped with a ball finial. The gates have pointed standards, dog bars, and roundels in the top rail. An iron alms box is set into the wall to the left of the gates. Further to the left is a World War I memorial cross made of ashlar, positioned on a high plinth with a stepped base, inserted into a stepped opening in the wall. Another similar opening, located further left, displays a fossil tree. The wall encloses three sides of the churchyard.
