Description
The Round House is a cottage or lodge built around 1810, located in Easton Park. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and features a steeply hipped pyramidal pantile roof. The eaves overhang, and there is a central stone stack with two octagonal ashlar shafts that have moulded tops. The building is single storey and has a two-bay front with two pairs of glazing bar fixed lights set in pointed Gothick surrounds, complete with painted ashlar heads. To the left side, there is an additional similar window alongside a glazed conservatory at the angle. On the south side, which faces the park, there is a lean-to range with a slate roof, an octagonal stack, and another two-light Gothick window. The Round House was built as a lodge for the Cholmeley family at Easton Park.
