Description
The farm buildings at Park Farm consist of a barn, stables, waggon hovels, and stores. They date back to the 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in 1792 and further changes in the 19th century. The structure features a timber frame with coursed limestone rubble underbuilding and red brick, including some ashlar quoins. The roofs are covered with pantiles and the buildings are arranged in a U-plan layout.
In the left corner, the 17th-century timber frame section has oak posts, mid rails, and diagonal braces supporting a wall plate of three bays, now topped with a later sawn softwood clasped purlin roof. The rear walls are constructed of mud and stud and are cased in later brick, featuring double planked doors. Adjacent to this section is a waggon hovel with three bays.
To the right, there is a two-storey range that has a dogtooth eaves course, two double planked doors, and two upper floor lights along with an additional doorway. At right angles to this is a tall single-storey barn with a rubble plinth and ashlar quoins. The barn has central wide double planked doors and a breather to the left. The right gable of the barn features an ashlar slab inscribed with the initials TP and the date 1792.
