Description

This building is a cottage located at 1 High Street, dating from the 17th century and altered in the 20th century. It has a timber frame that is underbuilt in brick and rendered, topped with a steeply pitched thatched roof featuring two 20th-century red brick gable stacks, one of which is partially external. The cottage is single storey with attics and has a three-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre planked door, with two two-light casements to the right. In the roof, there is a dormer with a further two-light casement and a thatched eyebrow. To the left, there is a single storey extension. Inside, the cottage retains its timber frame with diagonal braces and exposed joists, along with a fireplace that has a segmental arch and a mantel shelf.
