Description

Ivy House is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century, the mid-19th century, and the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is of collyweston slate, plain tiles, and pantiles, with raised stone coped gables. A single ridge stack and two gable stacks, constructed of red brick and ashlar respectively, rise from the roof; the ashlar stack has a cabled fluted frieze. The house follows a T-shaped plan and has a single storey plus attic. The front elevation, which is four bays wide, features an off-centre half-glazed door. To the right of the door is a single, two-light 19th-century sash window. To the left are two 20th-century aluminium windows, each with an ashlar lintel and keystone. The side front of the house has 19th-century windows set in plain ashlar surrounds with keystones to the ground floor.
