Description
West Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with a rear wing that was raised in the late 18th century, and further alterations made in the early 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins, and features red brick on the rear gable. The front is rendered, and it has a concrete tiled roof with raised brick coped gables, one of which includes a kneeler. There are two gable rendered stacks. The farmhouse has a T-plan layout and is a single storey with attics, presenting a three-bay front. The central entrance features a panelled door with panelled reveals, topped by a narrow lead hood supported by carved brackets, and is flanked by two pedimented two-light glazing bar casements. In the roof, there are two gabled dormers with two-light casements that have tile-hung cheeks. The two-storey range retains a 17th-century wooden cross mullioned window on the first floor.
