Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with earlier origins and 19th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features brick stacks and brick additions to the rear, which are colour-washed. The roof is covered with pantiles. The building has a double-depth plan, with an original four-room west front that includes a two-room central entrance hall section to the right, and an addition to the rear right that contains a stair hall.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has six bays, with a symmetrical three-bay entrance front to the right. The entrance features a half-glazed two-fold panelled door with a plain overlight set within an architrave, flanked by plate-glass flush sashes with margin lights, sills, and stucco cambered arches. To the left, there are three 16-pane sashes in similar surrounds, with flush wooden architraves beneath stucco flat arches. On the first floor, there are similar plate-glass sashes with margin lights to the right beneath cambered arches, along with a narrower window above the entrance and similar 16-pane sashes beneath flat arches to the left. The eaves are stepped, and the roof is a double-span hipped design with a central axial stack and an end stack to the right.

The right return, which faces the road, has a blocked round-headed brick arch leading to the rear section that contains a 12-pane sash. Inside, the front section features fielded-panel doors and window shutters, a mid-19th-century geometric staircase with a moulded handrail, turned balusters, and a round-headed stair window, as well as moulded cornices in the main rooms.
