Description
Rofford Hall is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble with brick quoins and dressings, topped by a gabled old tile roof. The building features brick end stacks, with a large external stack on the right end that has four diagonally-set flues. The farmhouse has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, presenting a symmetrical three-window range.
The entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a moulded wood architrave, topped by a decorative fanlight, and is framed by flat brick arches. There are similar arches over late 19th and 20th-century casements. The building is capped with a brick parapet that has stone coping. At the rear, there are sashes and a quatrefoil lunette, along with a two-storey, two-window range to the right, which is made of limestone rubble with a stucco front and a gabled old tile roof. This section includes a six-panelled door with a flat hood and 19th-century casements. Additionally, there is a rear one-storey-and-attic wing built from similar materials. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
