Description
This is a late 17th-century house located on Marley Lane, Chalgrove. Originally timber-framed, it is shown on Ordnance Survey maps as Jinnetts. The house has a roughcast exterior, a gabled thatched roof, and a right-end stack rebuilt in 20th-century brick. It follows a two-unit plan and has one storey with an attic. The front elevation is symmetrical, featuring a two-window range. A 20th-century glazed door provides access, and there are 19th-century two-light casement windows. A late 19th-century range adjoins the original structure to the left, with a 20th-century extension at the rear left. The interior reveals plain beams and joists, an open fireplace on the right side, wide oak floorboards, and a central timber-framed partition with carpenter's marks, extending upwards to a closed truss with straight windbraces. It is noted as a very late example of timber framing, characterized by timbers of light scantling.
