Description
The Mill is a 17th century mill and millhouse that has been converted into a house. The structure features a mid 18th century right bay and was originally timber-framed, with some timber framing and brick infill at the rear. The front is roughcast, while the rear right is constructed of mid 18th century English bond brick. It has a gabled roof covered with 20th century tiles at the rear and older tiles at the front, along with a late 19th century stack on the left end. The building has been extended from a two-unit to a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a two-window range. The early 20th century entrance door and casement windows are notable features. Inside, there are chamfered and stopped beams, with the central portion and right side wall on the first floor retaining timber framing. A late 18th century panelled door and ribbed doors are also present. The roof has not been inspected. Attached to the right is a mill dated 1871, made of brick with a gabled Welsh slate roof, which connects to a weatherboarded building housing an iron overshot wheel. There is a mill race at the rear with a leat to the right.
