Description

The barn at Manor Farm is a 16th-century structure that was extended by four bays in the 18th century. It features weatherboarding, primarily from the 20th century but with older sections at the upper level, over a timber frame resting on a limestone rubble base. The roof is gabled and covered with asbestos sheets. Originally a 5-bay barn, it has been expanded to a 9-bay plan with two threshing floors. There are iron sheet sliding doors on the left and plank double doors on the right. A 16th-century gabled porch is located at the rear right. Inside, the barn has jowled and braced posts supporting a 5-bay arch-braced collar-truss roof, which includes clasped purlins and paired lower principals. The left side features a 4-bay collar-truss roof from the 18th century.
