Description
Oak Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century alterations. It features a timber frame and colourwashed brick, topped with a thatched roof that has three gabled dormers on the north side and a single dormer on the south side, all fitted with 20th-century casements and leaded lights. The building has a projecting gable stack and a single ridge stack, and it is one storey with an attic.
The south front has four bays, with a brick plinth and a 20th-century timber-framed, thatched porch on the right, which includes a plank, studded rib door. There is one casement window to the right and two casement windows to the left, all featuring wooden lintels and leaded lights. Inside, the complete timber box frame is visible, with straight braces exposed. The cottage also has 20th-century fireplaces.
