Description

Ryehill Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and an extension added in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and thatched roofs. The cottage is positioned end onto the road, set on a platform, and is two storeys high with three bays, plus a stack bay and a 1½ storey addition at the far end.

The entrance front has a ledged door located in the 20th-century addition, which is sheltered by a pent-roofed hood. Above the entrance, there is a 2-light eyebrow dormer. The original part of the cottage has a 2-light casement window in the road-facing bay, with two additional casement windows in the other two bays, which are separated by the stack bay. On the first floor, there are 2 or 3-light casement windows in each bay, except for the stack bay. The roof is half-hipped at the road end and hipped at the far end and over the addition. There is a rendered stack with several flues.
