Description
Northern Cottages are a pair of cottages located on Beaulieu High Street, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries and built in several phases. They are constructed of brick, with some areas painted, and feature a plain tile roof. The cottages have a plan that includes 1½ storeys, with two bays and a stack bay adjacent to No. 56. At the other end, there is a wing extending to the rear, and from the side of this wing, there is a two-storey, two-bay cottage.
The road-facing side has a 1½ storey cottage on the left, which includes a narrow stack bay with a two-light casement window. There is a plank door situated between the other bays. Each side of this cottage features a three-light window with a segmental head, above which is a three-light hipped eyebrow dormer. There are ridge stacks located at the stack bay and at the right end of the cottage. To the right, set back, is the other cottage, which has a plank door and a three-light casement window, with a stack on the right end.
