Description

No. 20 Casewick Lane is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from coursed and banded limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a steeply pitched roof covered in Collyweston slate, with sprocketed eaves and three ashlar gable stacks that have moulded copings. The farmhouse is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys plus attics, presenting a three-bay front.

The central entrance consists of a six-panel door that is sheltered by a pent-roofed porch, which is supported by wooden brackets resting on plain corbels. This door is flanked by two three-light windows. On the first floor, there are three two-light windows. In the roof, there is a large gabled dormer added in the 19th century, which contains another two-light window and features a low ashlar finial. All windows are adorned with chamfered surrounds and mullions.

To the right of the main structure, there is a single-storey, single-bay service room with a pent roof that includes a two-light window. At the rear, to the right, there is an additional single-storey plus garret range with two bays, which has one single window and one three-light window in the side wall, along with another two-light window in the garret.
