Description
No. 9 Water Street is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with additions made in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a Collyweston slate roof. The building has three red brick gable stacks and is arranged in three bays over two storeys plus an attic.
The central doorway has a six-panel door and a wooden hood, flanked by single three-light casement windows set under wooden lintels. Above the doorway is a central single-light fixed window, also flanked by single three-light casements, all featuring wooden lintels. There is a deeply moulded wooden cornice at the eaves. The attic includes two gabled dormers, each with a two-light casement window and rendered cheeks. At the rear, there is a tall two-storey extension with a gambrel roof.
