Description

This is an early 18th-century cottage of two storeys and attics. It is constructed of ashlar stone, with coursed rubble to the side. The roof is covered in stone slates and features two hipped dormers with modern glazing. Modern glazing is also present in the double-hung sash windows, which have flat arches with keystones. Stone chimney stacks are located at the gable ends, and a moulded eaves cornice runs along the top. A modern door replaces the original. A Mansard roof has been added to the rear. The building is part of a group which includes numbers 10 to 12, the Registered Office of J & B North & Son Ltd, the Wire Store of J & B North, numbers 14, and Welland House.
