Description
The Beehive Public House, located at 12 Water Street, is a late 17th-century building constructed from ashlar stone. It has two storeys and attics, featuring two hipped dormers with stone slate roofing. The sides are made of coursed rubble, and the building has a moulded eaves cornice and a plinth. There are three windows in plain stone frames with keystones, which contain modern four-light casements. The entrance boasts a simple stone doorcase in the Roman Doric style, topped with a pediment, and has a modern door. The Beehive is part of a group that includes Nos 10 to 12, the Registered Office of J & B North & Son Ltd, the Wire Store of J & B North, Nos 14, 15, and Welland House.
