Description
The goods shed, built around 1856, is located east-south-east of the former Stamford East Railway Station and was constructed for the Stamford and Essendine private railway company. The building is made of ashlar and consists of two storeys with pedimental gable ends. It features four bays on both the north and south sides, where the ground floor is arcaded with elliptical arches. The two central arches on the south side are open, while the others are blind and have small segmental-headed windows. The first floor has similar windows set in recesses between wide pilasters, and there is a band at floor level. The three bay ends also have an arcaded ground floor, but these have later brick additions.
