Description

The Masons Arms Hotel is a mid-19th century building located on the north side of Cornmarket. It features a front elevation with three storeys and is rendered with a pantile roof, bracketed eaves, and rusticated quoins. The façade has four windows with hung sashes and 19th-century glazing. On the first floor, there are two canted bays, one with a panelled base over a columned porch to the left and the other over a ground floor bay. Additionally, there are two French windows on the first floor with an iron balustrade. The ground floor includes one window and an elliptical carriage entrance to the right, which has a carved lintel. The building has two brick stacks at the gable ends. The Masons Arms Hotel, along with Nos 1 to 13A (odd) and The Corn Market, forms a group.
