Description
Numbers 18 and 20 on Cornmarket are 18th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall and are constructed of brown brick. They have a hipped pantile roof sloping to the right. The buildings feature two windows with segmental arches, wooden cases, and hung sashes, which have glazing bars on the top storey and marginal glazing on the first floor. Number 18 has an altered early 19th-century shop front that is canted to the left, with 19th-century glazing on the lower part and an ornamental glazed frieze at the top. There is a door to the left with an ornamental sham fanlight and frieze above. Number 20 has a double-fronted early 19th-century shop front that retains its original window glazing and a central patterned glazed door, flanked by pilasters. There is one brick stack on the building. Numbers 2 to 26A (even) form a group with these buildings.
