Description
The premises occupied by Masons, Fuller, Chatterton and Haxby is a mid-19th century building located on the west side of Cornmarket. It is three storeys high and constructed of brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building features a bracketed eaves cornice and has two windows with stucco keystones, hung sashes, and marginal glazing. There are stucco bands separating the storeys. On the ground floor, there are two canted bays that also have marginal glazing and are flanked by plain wood pilasters. The entrance has plain pilasters, a rectangular fanlight, and a continuous cornice. This building is noted for its group value with No 17, Midland Bank, and other nearby premises.
