Description
The King's Head Hotel is a late 17th century and 18th century building with a 19th century front, located on Mercer Row. It is two storeys tall and features a Gothic style façade that includes two canted two-storey Gothic bay windows with mullions. The central entrance has a four-centred headed door flanked by octagonal columns. Above the door, there is a cornice and an enriched parapet. To the right, there is a three-storey section that has a two-storey canted Gothic oriel bay extending from the first floor. Under the second-floor windows, there are panels with shields. The building has a coped gable adorned with octagonal pinnacles and a quatrefoil band below the top of the gable. To the left, there is a traditional courtyard with a long range in brick. The King's Head Hotel is part of a group that includes Nos 4 to 14 (even).
