Description

14 Mercer Row is an early 19th-century building, originally consisting of two sections. The right-hand section is three storeys high and features mutules (small, decorative blocks resembling Roman roof tiles) along the eaves. It has a single window on each floor, with sash windows incorporating glazing bars. The left-hand section is taller, also three storeys high, with mutules at the eaves and two windows per floor, also with sash windows and glazing bars, set in wooden frames. A decorative band runs between the first and second floors of the left-hand section. The shop front is modern, with two windows and a central door. To the left of the shop front is a 6-panel door, above which is a rectangular fanlight and a carved keystone. The door surround features panelled ingoes. It is listed as part of a group, alongside numbers 4 to 14 (even) on Mercer Row.
