Description

The Loughborough Baptists War Memorial is a war memorial erected in 1919. It is carved from red Peterhead granite and features lead lettering. The memorial consists of a two-tiered square base with a moulded top edge, topped by a polished red granite pillar that tapers and has a square section with a bevelled-edge flat top. The front face of the pillar displays an inscription that honors the men from the church who served during the Great War from 1914 to 1918, as well as those named below who fell in the conflict. The inscription concludes with a biblical quote: "Jesus said:- I am the resurrection and the life. John XI 25."
