Description

The Kenton War Memorial is a war memorial erected in 1920 by the builders Messrs Clary and Wright, following the First World War. It is carved from Aberdeen granite and is located in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints, just west of the church. The memorial features a Latin cross set on a tapering plinth with a two-stepped base, standing approximately 1.8 meters high. The front (south) face of the plinth is inscribed in leaded lettering with the words: THE GREAT WAR/ 1914–1919/ (6 NAMES)/ THEY ALL GAVE THEIR LIVES/ JESU MERCY, AMEN.
